Here is the story behind Evoland:
Originally, Evoland was a video game created during the 24th Ludum Dare, an "accelerated video game competition".
Participants have 48 hours to create a video game respecting a given theme. That year the theme was "Evolution".
The creator proposed (Evoland classic) in about 30 hours and won first place despite the competition of 1,400 other participants. The concept he proposed can be defined as a game that changes as the player follows the history of RPGs.
You can try the game that the creator proposed for the competition, for free on the Shirogames website. (Search for evoland classic)
Evoland is based on the concept of walking though the evolution of video games.
When the player begins the adventure there are only two factors: big, simple pixels and a 2D character.
Your adventure is filled with: monsters, puzzles, NPCs, quests and powerful bosses.
If you like adventure games like: Mario, the legend of Zelda, final fantasy, etc…
I recommend you this game even if it’s a short and wonderful adventure with an incredible soundtrack.
Next week i will be talking about Evoland 2, i hope you guys are still around when i upload it. (i was going to forget to put type this in)
